In 1987, a
commercial opportunity and
a
knowledge of analytical instrumentation led to the founding of
Micro-Active Australia, and the development and commercialization of
numerous laboratory instrument software products.
Since
that time
our software products
have been
distributed on an OEM basis by the top instrument manufacturers in
the world. During
software development, the
size and number of project teams varies
depending on the scope of the projects, the technology we use, and
deadlines imposed by our customers and market forces. Due to the
dispersed geographical location of our major customers, various time
zones and cultural differences, strong stakeholder management
is
essential. Rigorous application of all nine PM knowledge areas
ensures
the success of these challenging and rewarding projects.
The adoption of
ITIL best practice in areas of change, configuration and release
management guarantees
quality technical support whenever customers contact our help desk.
From a strategic
perspective, our success
is
due to the proactive development of customer relationships,
understanding the markets in which our customers operate, the
identification of commercially-viable business opportunities (both
for MAA and our customers), and the economic utilization and
management of resources in delivering product of significant
strategic benefit to our customers.
